The furniture (1) has two flanges (2, 3) firmly spaced from each other. Front closing, horizontally extending slats (5-8) are arranged between the flanges. A receiving unit is provided to move the slats in a vertical manner from a closed position into an open position and to a flat side in the open position. The slats are guided in a flange-fixed guide at a front side. The receiving unit comprises a motor drive, and a pulley is arranged on a driven shaft of the motor drive for driving rotating belts e.g. cables.
