<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of maintaining the high accuracy of toner position detection regardless of a position of a test pattern against a light spot while suppressing unnecessary toner consumption by reducing a toner mark, and eliminating the waste of detection energy owing to the increased number of sensors in a system for detecting the test pattern using a reflection type optical sensor having three or more of light-emitting parts and three or more of light receiving parts. <P>SOLUTION: When the test pattern formed on a mover such as an intermediate transfer belt, a test pattern position recognition step of recognizing the position in the main direction of the test pattern, an irradiation system operation determining step of determining the irradiation system operation on the basis of the result of the test pattern position recognition step, a light receiving system operation determining step of determining the light receiving system operation, a reflected light obtaining step, and a toner position calculation step of arithmetically obtaining a toner position are executed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
