<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the structure of a telescopic boom of a crane, which can prevent the length of the telescopic boom when contracted from jutting out of the rear end of a loading platform of a transporting vehicle without increasing the number of nodes of the telescopic boom and can flexibly perform the tackling with the actual work on the construction site while making up a deficiency in the overall length of the telescopic boom when extended. <P>SOLUTION: The overall length when the telescopic boom 5 is contracted is shortened into such a length that the tip of the telescopic boom 5 does not jut out of the rear end of the loading platform 8 upon loading of the crane onto the loading platform 8 of the transporting vehicle 7.
