A mobile terminal and failure recovery method thereof are disclosed. The method includes that: in the case that an application processor cannot work normally, a wireless MOdulator and DEModulator (MODEM) receives a failure recovery activation information; the wireless MODEM acquires the control right on the peripheral of the mobile terminal; the wireless MODEM transmits a failure information to the network side; the wireless MODEM receives a failure recovery information returned from the network side, so that the mobile terminal can perform a failure recovery according to the failure recovery information. The method and the mobile terminal provided in the embodiments of the present invention are simple, and can avoid the lost of the user data. |
