A device for determining the tumescence and rigidity of a penis has a measurement value sensor (1) with an annular measurement loop (4) which can be placed around the non-erect penis (3) and which can be stretched against a particular restoring force when the penis (3) swells, the measurement value sensor (1) emitting a signal representative of the loop extension. Known devices have a non-elastic tumescence measurement loop which is stretched with a predetermined force at predetermined intervals to determine the rigidity of the penis on the basis of its constriction. In order to dispense with the complex control of two different measurement operations, the rigidity measurement value sensor (1) has a second measurement loop (5) which is arranged next to the first measurement loop (4) and can stretch against a restoring force higher than the restoring force of the first measurement loop (4).
