PURPOSE: A method for operating an image sensor is provided to effectively detect a defective pixel by the image sensor. CONSTITUTION: DP information is provided from a memory. It is determined whether DP data exist(S11). If the DP data exist, DP address information is read through the DP data provided from a memory and DP compensation is performed(S12). An NxN kernel compensation algorithm is performed from N+2 frame. If the DP data exist, a DN x N kernel compensation algorithm is performed in N+2 frame(S13).
