The wheel mounting consists of an axle (4) passing through a supporting lug (5) and engaging with the wheel hub (6). The hole (13) in the lug has a diameter which is greater than that of the axle, and the clearance is taken up by a spring-loaded and telescopic ring (14, 15) made from inner (15) and outer (16) sections and a spiral spring (17). The outer faces (18, 19) of the two ring sections are chamfered and engage with the lug and wheel hub respectively. The wheel hub is held on the axle by a spring-loaded radial peg (8) engaging with a groove (9) in the axle. In a variant of the design the spring-loaded ring can be made in one piece from rubber or plastics incorporating a bellows element.
