<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum-impregnated three-dimensional C/C composite excellent in processability and exhibiting nearly zero thermal expansion coefficient, and a method for producing the same. <P>SOLUTION: This aluminum-impregnated three dimensional C/C composite is obtained by impregnating a C/C composite with aluminum, having an average density of 1.9-2.3 g/cm<SP>3</SP>and an average thermal expansion coefficient of from -7×10<SP>-6</SP>/°C to 3.0×10<SP>-6</SP>/°C, preferably from 3.0×10<SP>-7</SP>/°C to 3.0×10<SP>-6</SP>/°C. The method for producing the aluminum-impregnated three dimensional C/C composite comprises the steps of preparing a preform of carbon fibers, impregnating the preform with CB, carbonizing under high pressure, graphitizing, liquid forging with aluminum melt and machining the forged matter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
