PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent paper from clogging by discharging a paper sheet when the length in the paper sheet feed direction of the paper sheet detected by a paper sheet length detecting means is shorter than a fixed length. SOLUTION: A CPU 108 is cooperated with a TOF sensor 102 a stopper 104 and a first roller 105 to perform leading-out of a paper sheet. Next, the CPU 108 begins to count the step number of a stepping motor driving a first roller 105. The CPU 108 increases the value of a counter in a RAM 111 by the number of steps. The CPU 108 obtains the detected result of a BOF sensor 103, and examines whether the rear end of the paper sheet is detected or not. When it is detected, it is examined whether the counter value in the RAM 111 is more than a fixed threshold value or not. When the counter value is less than the fixed threshold value, the length of the paper sheet is shown shorter than the distance between the first roller 105 and the second roller 106. Consequently, the CPU 108 reversely rotates the first roller 105 to discharge the paper sheet and the disposal is completed.
