Water supply is sterilized by an assembly having housing with water inlet and outlet and ultra-violet lamp within the housing, which flows through a chamber (17) around the lamp. The chamber (17) has an air bleed (25) which releases gases which may accumulate within the housing. The air bleed is a drill hole (25) in a separation panel (20) between the chamber (17) and the outlet chamber (30).
