REDUCING DEVICE FOR RESISTANCE OF MOON POOL IN SHIP

PURPOSE: A reducing device is provided to minimize resistance increase, speed deceleration, horsepower increase and damage caused by a moon pool as discharging ocean current outside of the moon pool and as limiting ocean current flowing into the moon pool. CONSTITUTION: A reducing device contains a venturi tube installing a guide vein(60a) which discharges ocean current(40) from a stem(20) to a stern(30) and the diameter of the venturi tube is getting smaller while going from the stem to a moon pool(50). Strong ocean current crossing the moon pool occurs in the lower part of the moon pool by operation of the venturi tube and the strong current prevents current flowing from the stem to the stern from inletting into the moon pool.
