PURPOSE: An automatic cooking controlling method of a microwave oven is provided to cook a food containing little moisture in optimum condition by using a humidity sensor. CONSTITUTION: A controlling method for automatic cooking comprises the steps of: detecting the humidity generated from food by voltage signals; judging if the detected voltage is over a certain value predetermined according to the property of the food; determining the maximum value of the detected voltage if the detected voltage is over the predetermined value; and additionally heating for a certain times at the point of which the maximum detected voltage is determined. Herein, the additional heating prevents the being out of the optimum cooking time. And the maximum value of the sensor output voltage is judged only over a certain voltage to prevent the mis-judgement from the distortion of the waveform generated in cooking. Therefore, the inefficient heating or burning of a food is prevented when cooking a food containing little humidity.
