The cylinder housing has an integral moulded valve base (3). The cylinder housing (2), the end cap (11) detachably associated with same and the control housing for the control piston as well as the slide shoe are all made of plastics such as polyoxymethylene. The pilot valves (4, 5) are provided in stepped bores (12, 13) of the valve base and the end cap (11). The control housing and piston (48) are provided at the side of the valve base (3). The control piston moves the slide shoe through which the work air is directed to the work chambers (34, 36) and the exhaust air is moved to the atmosphere (A).
