PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the connecting order of nodes and an inherent node ID by issuing an intrinsic ID confirmation packet, transmitting it through a transmission line by a master node, inserting a node existence packet to indicate presence of its own node into slots in which respective nodes are allocated for every inherent node for the inherent ID confirmation packet and detecting the inherent node ID by the master node. SOLUTION: First, a switch 105 is connected on the B side, the inherent ID confirmation packet to confirm the inherent node ID of the node is transmitted to the transmission line 100 and the node presence packet to indicate the presence of its own node is continuously transmitted to one of the slots allocated for each node by the master node 101. The inherent ID confirmation packet outputted by the master node is received in a state such that a switch 115 is connected on the A side and simultaneously passed to the node at the downstream side by a slave node 111. Since the inherent node ID of the slave node 111 is #4, the switch 115 is connected to the B side and the node presence packet is transmitted.
