PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely stop dust or the like from entering the optical path of a light beam reaching the image recording carrier from a light source. SOLUTION: A light beam irradiating mechanism 48 is equipped with a 1st casing 62 which contains an optical part 60 including the light source 66 emitting the laser light L. A 2nd casing 64 is provided integrally with or separately from the 1st casing 62 and surrounds the laser light L which is guided in a horizontal scanning direction from the optical part 60 to an accumulative fluorescent body sheet 24.
