PURPOSE: A stereoscopic image display device and a driving method thereof are provided to correct an image for low gradation optimization according to the features of a stereoscopic image. CONSTITUTION: Polarized glasses(GLS) appreciate an image displayed through a stereoscopic image display panel. A timing control unit(TCN) supplies an image to the stereoscopic image display panel. The timing control unit comprises an image correcting unit. The image correcting unit determines whether to execute low gradation optimization for a stereoscopic image to which brightness to change is reflected. The image correcting unit corrects the stereoscopic image according to the determination result.
