METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DETERMINING A THREAT STATUS FOR A LIQUID PRODUCT

A method and apparatus for performing liquid product threat status determination are provided. Two or more liquid products are scanned concurrently with an X-ray scanner to generate X-ray image data conveying an image of the two or more liquid products, each liquid product being comprised of a container holding a body of liquid. The X-ray image data is processed with software executed by a processor to determine if one of the liquid products in the image is a security threat. An image of the liquid products derived from the X-ray image data is displayed on a display means, wherein the image of the liquid products displayed is visually enhanced so that the one liquid product is visually distinguishable from another liquid product in the image. The method and apparatus are particularly useful for security checkpoint applications for determining whether liquid products present security threat.
