The invention relates to a novel FIR filter for an AD converter according to a method contained in patent application DE 4333908. Said method is based on non equidistant signal scanning and requires a special digital FIR decimation filter. The inventive FIR filter is characterized by a linear interpolation of the filter coefficients, thereby resulting in a substantial reduction of memory requirements for said coefficients. The two data memories (RAM) for amplitude and time values are characteristic of the new filter structure. The invention provides for a sequential decimation filter requiring relatively simple circuitry. |
