PURPOSE: A press apparatus and a press method are provided to reduce energy consumption and to efficiently control the pressing of a low-pressure section. CONSTITUTION: A press apparatus(11) controls RPM through a servo motor(20) or an inverter control motor and comprises a pump(21) capable of changing the discharge amount. The press apparatus presses a forming material through a pressing process in a low-pressure section by controlling the pump.
