PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile terminal that is connected to a LAN and a public network and capable of transmission with the FTP/SMTP(File Transfer Protocol/Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) so as to prevent mis-operation at line selection. SOLUTION: When a LAN channel is designated and destination information is received, the facsimile terminal that is connected to channels including the LAN channel and capable of transmission with the FTP/SMTP selects the transmission with the FTP or the transmission with the SMTP depending on the destination information. For example, when an entered destination has a specific pattern (an address denoted in a numeral in 4-digits succeeding to a symbol '#'), the facsimile terminal discriminates the transmission with the FTP and in other cases, the facsimile terminal discriminates the transmission with the SMTP.
