PURPOSE: A three-dimensional display apparatus and a liquid crystal barrier apparatus are provided to improve display contrast, thereby improving image quality. CONSTITUTION: A three-dimensional display apparatus comprises a liquid crystal barrier part(30). The liquid crystal barrier part is comprised of a liquid crystal device. A plurality of opening/closing parts(31,32) extended along a predetermined direction within a light barrier surface is included in the liquid crystal barrier part. An orientation direction of liquid crystal molecules in a liquid crystal device when voltage is not applied is different from an extension direction of the opening/closing part within the light barrier surface. The orientation direction and the extension direction are approximately perpendicular to each other within the light barrier surface.
