GLASS BEAD AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING GLASS BEAD

PURPOSE: Glass beads and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to express glass beads with various colors by coating a transparent reflective layer on the outer surface of glass sphere. CONSTITUTION: Glass beads(10) include a glass sphere(12) and a transparent reflective layer(16) coated on the outer surface of the glass sphere. An adhesive layer(14) is coated on the front surface of the glass sphere, and the transparent reflective layer is coated on the adhesive layer. The transparent reflective layer is coated to 20-70% of the surface area of the glass beads. The transparent reflective layer is the mixture of metal oxide, metal fluoride, metal nitride, metal chloride, and metal sulfide. A method for manufacturing the glass beads includes the following: the glass sphere is arranged to a binder to be fixed; the transparent reflective layer is deposited on the fixed glass sphere; the transparent reflective layer is hardened; and the glass sphere with the transparent reflective layer is separated from the binder.
