PURPOSE: A digital image display apparatus and method for processing still image is provided to improve display quality of a still image. CONSTITUTION: A user interface(50) outputs pointer creation signal. The pointer can be moved to a display where a still image is displayed. A DVR(Digital Video Recorder)(30) outputs the still image coping with the selection signal input time point. The digital video recorder improves the picture quality of the selected area in the still image. The DVR outputs the improved image to the selected area.
