<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost display device in which unwanted reflection is reduced not only for external light incidence from a normal direction but also for external light incidence from an oblique direction, a contrast ratio is high even under a bright room environment, and visibility is improved. <P>SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a circular polarization plate including a polarizer and a λ/4 plate. The circular polarization plate comprises an anti-reflection layer, the polarizer, a birefringent layer and the λ/4 plate which are stacked in this order. In the circular polarization plate, an NZ coefficient of the birefringent layer satisfies NZ<0.1 and an in-plane phase advancing axis is made orthogonal to an absorption axis of the polarizer. An NZ coefficient of the λ/4 plate satisfies NZ>0.9 and an in-plane phase delay axis of the λ/4 plate crosses the absorption axis of the polarizer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
