<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily grasp altitude and undulations of a mountain climbing route. <P>SOLUTION: A portable information terminal 1 includes a GPS antenna 4 and a GPS reception unit 5 which receive GPS signals and derive a current place based upon the received GPS signals, a storage unit 6 which stores map data including altitude information, a display 3 which displays images, and an operation and control processing unit 9 which displays the current place obtained by the GPS reception unit 5 on the display 3 over map data read out of the storage unit 6. The operation and control processing unit 9 creates a cross-sectional image showing a longitudinal sectional shape between two points based upon the map data in the storage unit 6, and displays the created cross-sectional image on the display 3 together with altitude values. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
