METHOD FOR SYNTHESIZING DIKETOPYRACENE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To synthesize diketopyracene in high yield without using carbon disulfide as a solvent.

SOLUTION: A special solvent is used. Specifically, a solvent having a benzene ring that has two or more chlorine atoms is used. The two chlorine atoms are not in meta-positions but in ortho-positions of the benzene ring.
