<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily determine a moving status of an ultrasound probe. <P>SOLUTION: The ultrasound diagnosis apparatus includes a change amount calculating unit 15c, an estimating unit 15d and a control unit 17. The change amount calculating unit 15c calculates an amount of change of a pattern of each of a plurality of local regions (ROI)between a plurality of ultrasound images (between a plurality pieces of raw data or between a plurality of ultrasound images for display) generated along a time series based on a reflected wave of an ultrasound wave transmitted by the ultrasound probe 1. The estimating unit 15d estimates a position of a rotation axis of a scanned cross-section in each ultrasound image based on the amount of change of the pattern of each of a plurality of local regions (ROI) calculated by the change amount calculating unit 15c.
