PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration energy absorbing device for a tension structure without danger of an unnecessary load to be applied to a vibration energy absorbing member when initial tension is applied. SOLUTION: As initial tension Pi of a tension member 4 is applied to a first movable body 11, a spring body 2 is compressed by the load of it to move a vibration energy absorbing body 13 by the compressed distance of the spring body 2, and an outer frame body 3 and a connection fixing body 10 are connected and fixed by a connection means 9 at an initial tension position 8 as an initial tension position by this movement. The spring body 2 pushes the tension member 4 rearward, and the tension member 4 pulls the spring body 2 toward the head part side by initial tension, thereby both are balanced to stop at the initial tension position 8.
