The present invention provides an epoxy resin composition blended with a small amount of reactive diluent to obtain a low viscosity solution, the thermal resistance and mechanical properties of the epoxy resin composition containing this reactive diluent being improved compared to epoxy resin compositions that do not contain the reactive diluent. A low viscosity liquid epoxy resin composition having excellent workability is provided by an epoxy resin composition containing epoxy resin and polyepoxy ethylcyclohexane in which the added amount of polyepoxy ethylcyclohexane is 1 to 90 parts by weight relative to 100 parts by weight of the epoxy resin. An epoxy resin hardened material having excellent thermal resistance and mechanical properties is obtained by blending, then hardening, a hardener with the epoxy resin.
