RETARDATION FILM AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retardation film having desired birefringence and excellent transparency, and to provide a manufacturing method capable of manufacturing the retardation film using a simple method.

SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the retardation film includes: preparing organic-inorganic complex particles having an organic group on the surface of inorganic particles; dispersing the organic-inorganic complex particles into a resin as primary particles to thereby prepare a particle-dispersed resin composition; and applying the particle-dispersed resin composition onto a substrate so that the organic-inorganic complex particles are substantially oriented to an application direction A to thereby obtain a retardation film 1.
