VIDEO SOURCE UNIT AND VIDEO DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video source unit capable of improving use efficiency of video light.

SOLUTION: A video source unit 4 comprises: a video light source 5; and an optical sheet 10 laminated on the video light source. The optical sheet comprises: a base material layer 11; and an optical functional layer 12 formed on the surface of the video light source side of the base material layer. The optical functional layer comprises: light transmission parts 13 which are juxtaposed along a sheet surface and which can transmit light; and light absorption parts 14 which are juxtaposed between the light transmission parts and which can absorb light. The surface on the video light source side of the light transmission part includes a protrusion 17 which has a shape of a curved line or a polygonal line so as to protrude toward the video light source side in a section in the sheet thickness direction.
