摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic transfer master substrate and a manufacturing method therefor with which durability and magnetic transfer performance are improved in manufacturing of a magnetic recording medium having high recording density. <P>SOLUTION: The magnetic transfer master substrate comprises: a non-magnetic substrate having recessed parts corresponding to a signal array on a surface; ferromagnetic material which is embedded in the recessed parts and one part of which projects from a surface of the non-magnetic substrate; and a non-magnetic protective film for covering at least one part of the surface of the non-magnetic substrate and the ferromagnetic material. The curvature radius of a part where the ferromagnetic material projects from the surface of the non-magnetic substrate, at a corner part in a cross section cut in the direction perpendicular to the substrate is 1 nm to 10 nm. The height of the part where the ferromagnetic material projects from the surface of the non-magnetic substrate is 2 nm or above, and the height from the surface of the non-magnetic protective film to the top of the ferromagnetic material is smaller than the curvature radius. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
