<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling a compact compressor that reduces consumption energy, in the compact compressor that is included in each machining equipment and supplies compressed air to a pneumatic device of the machining equipment. <P>SOLUTION: The compact compressor 1 includes: a compressor unit 11 which compresses air and discharges the compressed air; a servo motor 12 which drives the compressor unit 11; and a servo amplifier 13 which controls a driving state of the servo motor 12. In the servo amplifier 13, timing when to drive the servo motor 12 is controlled by an NC device (control device) 4.
