<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biodegradable resin composition having favorable mechanical strength and a controlled biodegrading rate, and to provide a molded article of the composition. <P>SOLUTION: The biodegradable resin composition contains an aliphatic polyester resin, starch and a plasticizer, and the composition contains a synthetic organic compound-based biodegradation inhibitor in an amount of 0.001 part by weight or more and 3 pts.wt or less with respect to 100 pts.wt in total of the aliphatic polyester resin, starch and plasticizer.
