SCRIBING WHEEL, SCRIBING DEVICE, AND SCRIBING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scribing wheel capable of forming excellent scribe lines on a substrate of a fragile material, and to provide a scribe device having the scribing wheel and a method of scribing using the scribing wheel.

SOLUTION: A sintered diamond used for forming the scribing wheel 50 is composed of diamond particles and the rest which is a bonded phase containing additives and binders. Preferably the diamond particles have an average particle size in the range of 0.6-1.5 μm. Preferably the sintered diamond contains diamond in an amount in the range of 65.0-75.0 wt.%. Preferably the sintered diamond contains ultrafine particle carbides in an amount in the range of 3.0-10.0 wt.%. Preferably, the content of the binders in the sintered diamond constitutes the rest of the diamond and the ultrafine particle carbides.
