<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve durability by preventing deformation of a reel body or a lid member. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a spinning reel for fishing including a tubular shaped front cover 30 attached to a front part of the reel body 1 inside a rotor 2. The reel body 10 or the lid member 20, while the lid member 20 is blocked by the reel body 10, includes flange parts 12, 22 of which an outer periphery part is continuously formed in a circumferential direction, in a neighbouring position to be a radial direction outer peripheral side of a pinion gear 8a in a part K in which a drive gear 6 is engaged with the pinion gear 8a.
