PURPOSE: An electron gun for a color cathode ray tube is provided to suppress high frequency noise by changing shape and structure of a wire coupled to focusing electrodes and enhance vibration attenuation performance. CONSTITUTION: An electron gun for a color cathode ray tube comprises a neck glass formed behind a panel and an electron gun inside the neck glass. The electron gun includes a stem pin(15), cathode electrodes(42), many grid electrode(43,44,45,46) spaced from the cathode electrodes(42), focusing electrodes(47,48) and an anode electrode(49) spaced from the focusing electrodes(47,48). An external voltage is applied to the electron gun through the stem pin(15). The cathode electrodes(42) emit electron beams. A static voltage and a dynamic voltage are applied to the focusing electrodes(47,48), respectively. A wire(800) is arranged between the stem pin(15) and the dynamic voltage focusing electrode(48) and has a regular cross section in a lengthwise direction.
