<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide hydrophobic silica particle powder excellent in hydrophobicity and fluidability, and excellent in dispersibility into a rubber composition, and a method for manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: This hydrophobic silica particle powder is excellent in hydrophobicity and fluidability, and excellent in dispersibility into the rubber composition. The method for manufacturing the same involves adding a sulfide silane and an aminosilane coupling agent into the silica particle powder, and mixing and stirring to coat the particle surface of the silica particle powder with the sulfide silane and the aminosilane coupling agent, and thereafter adding a higher fatty acid and mixing and stirring to deposit the higher fatty acid onto the coating surface. In the method, all the treatment processes are executed in a dry system; a water content of silica particle powder is previously conditioned; and the inorganic particle powder after the sulfide silane, the aminosilane coupling agent and the higher fatty acid have been deposited is heat treated in a temperature range within 120-210°C. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
