A device for robot reinforcement includes a power mechanism for increasing lifting force, a follower connecting with the power mechanism for transferring the pulling force thereof and following the movement of the robot (7), and a supporting mechanism for supporting the power mechanism and the follower. A method for robot reinforcement involves the following steps: providing a device for robot reinforcement composed of a power mechanism, a follower and a supporting mechanism, connecting the device for robot reinforcement with the moving parts of the robot (7) by the follower and following the movement of the robot, providing a constant or variable assistant lifting force to the robot (7) by the device for robot reinforcement, such that the robot and the device for robot reinforcement bear the gravity of the workpiece together. The method and device for robot reinforcement can effectively improve the weight loading ability of the robot and have the advantages of simple operation and low cost.
