<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable even a beginner to easily identify a specified symbol quickly moving. <P>SOLUTION: The rotary reel unit for a game machine includes: a cylindrical reel drum which is vertically rotatable; three reel belts disposed on the outer circumference of the reel drum, wherein two kinds of specified symbols having different forms and other various symbols are drawn on; and a light source for irradiating the symbols with a light from behind. Each of the reel belts includes a portion formed at predetermined symbol parts in the two kinds of specified symbols, wherein each of the portions is semi-transparent.
