<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a print control device, a printing apparatus and a print control method in the printing apparatus, with which inappropriate command transmission to a driving control means and occurrence of command transmission errors can be avoided even when different state detection results are obtained between a plurality of print control devices. <P>SOLUTION: Each of controllers on master and slave sides performs ink cartridge (IC) checking processing ((3) in Fig.8), and transmits the detected result (for example "NG") through the IC checking processing to the other controller ((4) in Fig.8). Furthermore, the same IC checking processing is performed in the other controller and the detected result (for example "OK") is transmitted ((5) in Fig.8). A mechanical control portion 83 merges (integrates) the respective detected results, and obtains NG as the merged result if at least one of the results is NG ((6) in Fig.8). When NG is obtained, the fact is transmitted to a host control portion 125, and when YES is selected in a Y/N display, the error is cleared.
