A handover method, an access node and a donor station are provided by the embodiments of the present invention. The handover method includes: the access node requests the donor station of the access node for the information of the Mobility Management Entity Pool (MME Pool) which the MME attached to by the user equipment under the coverage of the access node belongs to (101); the access node receives the information of the MME Pool which the MME attached to by the user equipment under the coverage of the access node belongs to, from the donor station (102); the access node implements the user equipment handover according to the information of the MME Pool (103). The embodiments of the present invention enable the access node to acquire the information of the MME Pool which the MME attached to by the user equipment belongs to, which is needed when the handover type judgment is implemented, improve the correctness of the handover type judgment, and ensure the smooth implementation of the handover.
