PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain power loss in a driving device for transmitting reciprocating driving force of a single electric motor through a lever mechanism to a reciprocating body. SOLUTION: A needle 18 of a linear motor 17 rectilinearly reciprocates in the longitudinal direction of a connecting rod 14, and the reciprocating rectilinear motion of the needle 18 is converted to the reciprocating motion of the connecting rod 14 through a link 19. The reciprocating motion of the connecting rod 14 is transmitted to the levers 12, 13, and both levers 12, 13 are reciprocated to rock in synchronization with each other. The synchronous rocking motion of the levers 12, 13 is converted to vertical motion of a heald frame 11 through support links 15, 16. The lower limit of a lever ratio Y/X of the levers 12, 13 is set to 1.7.
