<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce loss of a switching element and facilitate downsizing of the switching element and a heat sink while driving a single-phase AC motor with varying driving condition. <P>SOLUTION: A power converter comprises: a converter circuit 12 that has a switching element and converts and outputs supply power voltage from a DC power supply to intermediate voltage by full-wave rectification; an inverter circuit 14 that has a switching element and synchronizes an output signal of the converter circuit 12 to convert the output signal from DC to AC for supplying the output signal to a single-phase AC motor 15; an adder 20 that outputs a frequency control signal which controls an output signal frequency of the converter circuit 12 based on a rotational state of the single-phase AC motor 15 and a preset target rotational state of the single-phase AC motor 15; and a converter control unit 13 that controls the converter circuit 12, and an inverter control unit 16 that controls the inverter circuit 14 based on the frequency control signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
