PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device capable of providing an excellent processed image in such a configuration as to properly suppress overshoot and not to lose information of fine structure in an area where overshoot is suppressed.

SOLUTION: First high frequency component acquisition means 112 acquires a first high frequency component from a target image. Area detection means 113 detects an overshoot area of the target image on the basis of the first high frequency component. Second high frequency component acquisition means 114 acquires a second high frequency component on the basis of the overshoot area. Frequency component replacement means 115 replaces the first high frequency component with the second high frequency component.
