<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication apparatus and communication method for a reliable data transmission system which can reliably recover a clock without structural and functional complication even when the same code appears sequentially. <P>SOLUTION: The communication apparatus includes: a sequential same code detection section 11 for outputting a bit inversion command signal when detecting the same code appearing sequentially for a predetermined number of bits (Nmax) in digital data to be transmitted; a data inversion section 12 for generating data in which the value of at least one bit of the digital data corresponding to the bit inversion command signal is inverted; and a transmission section 13 for transmitting the data including the inverted bit.
