<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag device having a knee protection airbag which can be smoothly expanded along the rear surface side of a curved vehicle body member and can positively protect the knees of an occupant. <P>SOLUTION: The airbag device has an airbag 26 stored in front of an occupant MD and expanded to enter into a space between each of knees K of the occupant MD and a vehicle body side member 11. The airbag 26 includes a bag body 27 constructed to connect peripheral edges of a vehicle body sidewall 28 and an occupant sidewall 29 to each other, and an outer connecting member 45 connected to the vehicle body sidewall 28 at two vertical spaced-apart locations to reduce a vertical length size of the vehicle body sidewall 28 at the outer peripheral side of the vehicle body sidewall 28. Thin-walled parts 33 acting as a starting point of bending when completing expansion of the airbag 26 are formed at the bag body 27 in an area between the two connecting locations where the vehicle sidewall 28 and the outer connecting member 45 are connected.
