<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric conversion element which has high conversion efficiency and high durability. <P>SOLUTION: A photoelectric conversion element includes a pair of electrodes and photoelectric conversion layer which is between the pair of electrodes and is composed of two or more layers including a buffer layer.
