PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a centrifugal multiblade fan capable of effectively utilizing a fan diameter of the multiblade fan to the maximum limit. SOLUTION: A first backward flow inhibition means 10 inhibiting that an air flowing in a scroll chamber 4a is backward flowing from the scroll chamber 4a to an air suction port 4b through a suction gap G1 between the multiblade fan and a suction side case plate 4d is outwardly provided as compared with a fan diameter D of the multiblade fan 2. A backward flow from the scroll chamber 4a to an air suction port 4b through a suction side gap G1 between the suction side case plate 4d of the casing 4 and the multiblade fan 2 is inhibited and a blast efficiency of the fan 1 is enhanced. The blast efficiency is enhanced by utilizing an effective fan diameter D1 of the multiblade fan 2 to the maximum limit.
