PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a worn quantity detection method of an intake/exhaust valve and its device capable of detecting the worn quantity of an intake/exhaust valve sheet part even during operation without disassembling an engine for an effective maintenance and management. SOLUTION: The crank angle in the internal combustion engine during operation and the seating time of the intake/exhaust valve are detected. The actual measured crank angle is calculated on the basis of the detected crank angle and the seating time, and are stored into a memory 41. A theoretical crank angle in the seating time of the intake/exhaust valve in design as well as the valve lift quantity corresponding to the theoretical crank angle are stored in the memory 41 beforehand. The difference of angles between the actually measured crank angle and the theoretical crank angle is calculated by a calculator 35. The valve lift quantity corresponding to the difference of angles is calculated by the calculator 35 and is displayed in the display 43.
